Highland has Tony Williams Park & Ballfield which caters to all kinds of outdoor activities. Some of the best walking and hiking trails can be found at Mohonk Preserve, Minnewaska State Park, the Hudson Valley Rail Trail, & the Walkway over the Hudson Historic State Park, which spans the Hudson River connecting Highland to Poughkeepsie. If you find yourself in Poughkeepsie treat yourself to a performance at the historic Bardavon Theater or take a walk down the street to the Mid-Hudson Civic Center to see a tradeshow/ expo, concert or even try the ice-skating. The train station is only a few blocks away and you can be at Grand Central Station in just over an hour and fifteen minutes.
The properties in Newburgh & New Windsor have their own unique attractions. Both are in close proximity to Stewart International Airport. The Newburgh Waterfront offers plenty of fine dining and sightseeing. If history is your thing there are plenty of historical sights to check out, George Washington’s Headquarters, Knox’ Headquarters, New Windsor Cantonment Historic Sites & Bannerman’s Island which can be seen by taking a cruise right from the waterfront. Right across the river in Beacon you can catch the train to Grand Central and be in the city in just over an hour.
All properties have the benefit of enjoying a vast variety of things. West Point Military Academy is only 20 miles and offers so much for visitors to see and do. There are extensive wine trails and tours, local breweries, the Angry Orchard tasting room, farms for apple picking and golf courses for all ages. Dutchess Stadium is home to the Hudson Valley Renegades and is always a great time. For quality family time take a ride down to Splashdown Beach and Water park or over to Rocking Horse Ranch. If shopping is your thing each town has their own quaint little shops and boutiques and Woodbury Commons Shopping Center is only a 45 minute drive to some of the most sought after high end brands and quality dining.
